Meet Your Mentor - Dan Ornowski

Hi I’m Dan - A professional Drummer and Teacher with 20 years of experience. I regularly present at music educator conferences or am asked to be a guest artist/clinician at Universities around the US where I share my system for building better drum chops with students and educators alike.

I wasn’t always a thriving percussionist though. I struggled through a playing injury for several years and had to completely revamp my technique, in order to rebuild my chops and play with confidence and ease again. As I rebuilt my hands (with guidance from my teachers and mentors), I realized how important the Traditional Rudimental approach to drumming is. I began to apply these ideas and techniques to any and all styles of playing and noticed massive benefits. I then began to teach this approach to my students, and tweaked it for efficiency. Over the last decade this approach has helped 100’s of my students transform their hands and play with the freedom they’ve always dreamed of.  

These Traditional Rudimental practice techniques have proven time and time again to be the simplest and most effective way to build better technique and have become the foundation of my teaching.
